Gossip Betrays Confidence

Verse Leviticus 19:16 “Do not go about spreading slander among your people. Do not do anything that endangers your neighbor’s life. I am the Lord.”

Application Scripture talks about the power of our tongue all throughout the Bible. This scripture is no different. I believe God is giving us this law to protect us from ourselves and each other. It is important to speak truth about each other. To me, this scripture means that spreading slander to people can potentially endangers your neighbor’s life. I think that if we genuinely believe that, we would hold our tongues a lot more.

The Bible says in Problems 11:13 “A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy person keeps a secret.” I think sometimes people fall into a pattern of gossip and talking behind each others back. People start to live for the drama that they create. Life isn’t going good if you don’t have something juicy…
